I want to start a small business distributing leaflets, can I register a business name to help advertise?

I want to start a small business distributing leaflets, i have a business name in mind and it is available. Can i simply register this business name to help me advertise? for example add it to letters and leaflets.. If i do this is there other add ons that are required? like business licenses etc? [...]
